The quality of refrigerant can be indicated by 4 parameters: purity / chemical proportions, moisture, acidity and vapor residue. Refrigerants are divided into 3 grades depending on the quality parameters:
А - first
В - qualified
С – acceptable
EcoFrost production meets European standards of first grade quality (А):
Purity – 99,9%, chemical proportions ±2%; moisture ≤0,001%, acidity ≤0,001%, vapor residue ≤0,01%. B and C grades are characterized by lower parameters. Accordingly it reduces operating efficiency, increases the refrigerant and power consumption and as a result it enhances the system damage probability.
Refrigerant is a liquefied gas, which is put into metallic cylinder under pressure. In order to obtain authentic results of analysis, several important factors must be taken into account:
- aggregate state of refrigerant in the moment of sample receiving;
- the equipment used for performing tests, the method of implementation, verification and calibration within the manufacturer's recommended terms;
- measuring device error;
- international accredited laboratory for testing refrigerants;.
Some companies use a stand-alone analyzer that often results in high percentage of error, absence of the recommended calibration and verification of questionable analysis method. In most cases, the analyzer can be well adjusted on the definition of several quality parameters of one or two refrigerant types, but all the parameters of quality with the smallest deviation can be ascertained only at the laboratory.
